About this course
The course is focusing on mastering craft skills and basic jewelry techniques. Participants will learn the basics of metalworking and other manufacturing techniques, such as sawdust cutting, drilling, sawing, rolling materials, annealing, brazing – using fire and silver solder, soldering – using tin. They will also learn techniques of surface treatment of jewelry, such as sanding, polishing, and patination. During the course, they will also get acquainted with the studio’s equipment, machines and tools, and materials used in jewelry, such as base metals and precious metals. The craft skills acquired under the guidance of a professional pedagogue will be used by the participants to create jewelry according to their design, such as a ring, curtain, or brooch made of materials such as copper, brass, aluminum, and plexiglass. Mastering basic jewelry techniques is a prerequisite for creative activity and the creation of their own jewelry.
